In a previous article I showed you how to earn 80K American Airlines AAdvantage miles from a single credit card sign-up bonus; enough for a free roundtrip flight from America to Thailand. You can stack up even more miles by applying for the Citi AAdvantage Business credit card even if you don’t operate a business; maybe you’re simply thinking of starting one or already do things that could be considered a business or side-hustle (selling things on eBay, etc). Here’s the offer and how to fill out the application to increase your chances of being approved.

The signup bonus is 65K AAdvantage miles after making 4K of purchases in the first 4 months of the account opening date. While the annual fee is $99, it’s waived the first year. While the 65K miles aren’t enough for a roundtrip to Thailand, it’s enough for a one-way ticket (37.5K). You could also use it for side-trips from Thailand to elsewhere in Asia.

How to Fill Out a Business Card Application

It’s rather simple. For the Name of Business, just use your name. For the Annual Business Revenue, enter 0; perfectly acceptable when launching a new business. For the Legal Structure of Business choose Sole Proprietorship. For the Tax ID Number enter your Social Security Number.

I was immediately approved when I applied. At the time of this writing, it’s easy to be approved for a business card with Citi. It can be much more difficult with banks like Chase who may want financial statements or other proof from your business.

Example Booking

For only 30K, you could book a one-way Business class flight from BKK to Tokyo for only 30K AAdvantage miles; as little as 20K for Economy class. In this example, JAL is the partner. They’re a fantastic airline. So, for your 60K miles (5K less than your signup bonus), you could take a roundtrip trip from Bangkok to Tokyo.

Just google “American Airlines Business Credit Card” to find the latest offer. Happy Travels!
