March Hotel Review: Best Value in Central Pattaya? (It’s Where We Stay)
Last Updated on October 13, 2025 by admin
Finding quality accommodation at budget prices in Central Pattaya can present a challenge, with most hotels charging premium rates for central locations. March Hotel breaks this pattern, delivering genuine value that often gets overlooked in favor of its more expensive sister properties, August Suites and April Suites. This is the hotel I stay at when in Pattaya. I can’t recommend it highly enough due to its convenient location, terrific prices, a balcony with every room, and great amenities.
Location and Accessibility

March Hotel sits on a quiet side street (Pattaya Klang Alley 16) off Pattaya Klang Road (Central Pattaya Road), providing the rare combination of peaceful surroundings with easy access to everything Central Pattaya offers. The hotel’s position creates a sanctuary from street noise while keeping major destinations within comfortable walking distance.
Walking distances:
- Soi Buakhao: 5 minutes to catch the baht bus
- Soi 6: 10 minutes for entertainment
- Pattaya Klang Road: 2 minutes for cheap massages and local services
The hotel’s Japanese tourist clientele reflects its quiet, well-maintained character. These guests appreciate cleanliness, value, and peaceful environments, and March Hotel delivers on all three.
The Second-Story Pool

March Hotel’s pool area stands out as one of its strongest features. Located on the second floor, this well-designed space offers a genuine escape from Pattaya’s heat without the crowds typical of larger hotels.
Exceptional Gym Facilities
March Hotel’s gym genuinely deserves recognition as one of Pattaya’s better hotel fitness centers. Many Central Pattaya hotels offer token gym facilities with minimal equipment, but March Hotel takes fitness seriously. It purportedly has the best hotel gym in the area. I’m not a fitness buff so I haven’t personally investigated the gym; but I suspect reports are correct. I’ll grab photos of it during my next stay and update this article.
Room Quality and Comfort

Rooms at March Hotel provide spacious, clean accommodation with functional amenities. Large windows allow natural light, balconies offer outdoor space, and air conditioning keeps rooms comfortable in Pattaya’s heat.
Each room includes:
- Refrigerator
- Safe
- Tea and coffee making facilities
- Flat-screen television
- Private bathroom with hot water
- All rooms have balconies with a small table and sitting chairs
The rooms show some age compared to newer properties, but cleanliness remains high and everything functions properly. Beds are comfortable, but King sized beds seem to be two twin sized beds attached if that matters to you (it doesn’t to me, and I didn’t even think to check until a fellow traveler asked me about it).

Rates and Booking Value
March Hotel’s off-season rates hover around 1,000 baht per night ($28), delivering remarkable value for Central Pattaya location and facilities. High season prices increase but remain competitive compared to similar locations. The “entry level” room is called Deluxe. Refreshed rooms are called Premium. I’ve stayed in both. The only difference I could discern is the Premium rooms have much brighter lighting and a bathroom tub; deluxe rooms are rather dim.
Booking with Chase Ultimate Rewards Points: American travelers with Chase credit cards can book March Hotel using Ultimate Rewards points, essentially staying free after earning points through regular spending. All of my stays at March hotel have been free using Chase Ultimate Rewards points, but I’m happy to pay out of pocket as well. For paying with points, I find it a much better value than the Holiday Inn Express Central Pattaya on Soi Buakhao which you can book with IHG points.
Minor Drawbacks
No hotel presents perfection at budget prices. March Hotel’s minor issues include:
Breakfast: The on-site breakfast receives mixed reviews. Many guests prefer walking to nearby local restaurants offering better food variety at lower prices. I prefer walking to the baht bus on Soi Buakhao, then taking it to one of three restaurants offering 99 baht breakfast specials; that’s only USD $3 and includes a full breakfast plus coffee and juice. The only thing I like better is the gigantic and free breakfast buffet at the Holiday Inn Express Central Pattaya on Soi Buakhao.
Front Desk Staff: Staff is efficient but can be abrupt and they don’t speak much English. You’re not going to be able to gab with them about things to see and how to get places like you would at a typical international chain hotel.
Flooding: The street March Hotel is on can flood badly. Grab and Bolt rideshare cars can make it through during the limited times this occurs but not motorbikes.
The Rules
No durian, etc.

Who Should Stay at March Hotel
March Hotel suits travelers who:
- Value budget-conscious accommodation without sacrificing quality
- Prefer quiet locations while maintaining central access
- Appreciate functional fitness facilities
- Want a pool without resort crowds
- Plan to explore Pattaya rather than remain at the hotel all day
Bottom Line
March Hotel delivers exceptional value for Central Pattaya, combining peaceful location, quality facilities, and honest rates. While the property shows some age and minor flaws exist, the overall package significantly outperforms its price point. I stay here. That’s as high as an endorsement as I can give. I don’t like noisy, ragged budget hotels yet I don’t believe in squandering my budget on luxury properties so it’s perfect for me.
